NRE was able to rebuild Freeports GP38-2 locomotive to meet the requirements demanded by their unique mining operation. Upgrades included an NFORCE control system with NCOMPASS to remotely monitor location and various locomotive performance information, remanufactured D77E traction motors, rebuilt High Voltage Cabinet (HVC), remanufactured rotating electrical equipment, new end plates, and a digital camo wrap.
